“Dancing life, living dance.”
The Danza Duende® project created in 2004 by Yumma Mudra aims to develop courage and the ability to improvise, create forms, develop perceptions of space and our intuition, adapt to changes, quickly understand movements, express ourselves clearly and with intensity, communicate and develop the ability to be flexible and generous in interacting with others.
Within the studies of duende dance, we develop Gypsy Duende which is a deep exploration of traditional gypsy dances, such as Roman Havasi, Kalbélia and the dances of the Balkans and Andalusia. journey through the dances of the gypsy peoples Spain through their free and wild nature. A study of the essence of gypsy dances and how best to convey an art that requires dancing with total involvement, with the heart and not just the body that aims to release authentic expression through movement, music and rhythm, training and celebrating unconditional joy.
What you will find in the Duende and Gypsy Duende Dance classes:
- Grounding and breathing exercises
- Improvisation and listening techniques
- Study of gypsy dance styles
- Exploration of expressive forms and movements
- Development of emotional and relational and intuitive intelligence
At the Latidou Center in Palermo, weekly classes are held throughout the year in Duende Dance and Gypsy Duende. In addition, workshops can be arranged upon request for groups, schools or special events.
